Photography built around how products are sold.
Product photography has to answer practical questions. Does the buyer need to understand the product’s form, finish, scale, technical features or the way it is used? Will the photograph appear on a white e-commerce page, in a printed catalogue, on an exhibition panel or inside a detailed specification?
We plan the background, lighting, angle, styling and file format around those intended uses. Products that can travel are photographed under controlled studio conditions in Claregalway. Machinery, installed equipment and larger products can be photographed at the client’s premises.
For product ranges, consistency matters as much as the quality of any one photograph. A repeatable setup, clear shot list and agreed naming system make the resulting image library easier to use, manage and extend.
A practical system for every product range.
Clean catalogue photographs, contextual imagery and technical detail can be combined within one carefully planned assignment.

Preparation and Access
Consistency is designed, not corrected afterwards.
Before a product range is photographed, we establish the visual rules. These may cover product preparation, camera height, viewing angles, background, shadows, spacing, scale and final cropping.
A test photograph can be approved before work begins on the full product list. This reduces the risk of unnecessary revisions and provides a reliable reference for additional products photographed in later months or years.
Planning may include:
- Product list, variants and priority images
- Cleaning, assembly and final presentation
- Required backgrounds and shadow treatment
- Angles, details and scale references
- Marketplace, catalogue and print specifications
- File names, SKUs and catalogue references
- Future products that may need to match the original photographs
Designed for the channel in which it appears.
The intended use affects the way a product should be photographed. The framing, resolution, background and number of required views should therefore be agreed before the assignment begins.

Practical Questions
Clear answers to the issues that normally affect planning, access, scope and delivery.
Can products be sent to the studio?
Yes. Transport, insurance, assembly instructions and return arrangements should be agreed before dispatch, particularly for valuable or fragile items.
Can you photograph large machinery?
Yes, on location. We first assess space, access, power, backgrounds, safety and whether production can be paused or visually controlled.
Do you remove backgrounds?
Background cleanup and straightforward cut-outs can be included where agreed. Complex reflective or translucent products may require additional retouching.
How do you quote a large catalogue?
Pricing depends on product count, number of views, preparation, complexity, consistency requirements and final retouching rather than product count alone.
